Her pneumonia was double due to an aggressive S. pneumoniae bacteria infection. Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston was forced to place Angelica Hale on ECMO Life-Support when she urgently required life-saving medical interventions. Her organs failed in multiple ways as well as kidney failure, which didn't fully recover. Her condition forced her to alter her lifestyle around hemodialysis as well as the peritoneal dialysate. After having spent 80 days in hospital her condition changed from in danger of death to an extended recuperation road. After one year and a half of dialysis Angelica was able to undergo the largest surgery she had ever undergone- her kidney transplant. It was her own mother who was the one to donate her kidney. Angelica as well as her mom underwent an operation that was successful on September 13, 2013. The surgery was performed at Emory University Hospital and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston, two hospitals located across from each other. Angelica Hale has been pursuing her dream of becoming a star ever since.
